Rascal Flatts Biography

Rascal Flatts is an American Grammy Award-winning country pop group founded in Nashville, Tennessee. Since its inception, Rascal Flatts has been composed of three members: Gary LeVox (lead vocals); LeVox' second cousin, Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar, harmony vocals); and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar, harmony vocals).

Rascal Flatts has released five studio albums and a live compilation to date, all on Lyric Street Records. Their first two albums, 2000's Rascal Flatts and 2002's Melt, have been certified 2× multi-platinum and 3× multi-platinum.

In 2006, Rascal Flatts was the top selling artist across all genres of music. Their latest CD, Me and My Gang, sold more than 721,000 copies in its first week, the first time in 15 years that a country artist has passed that milestone. That same year, Rascal Flatts played for over a million fans on their national tour, breaking attendance records throughout.

Rascal Flatts was formed in Columbus, Ohio in 2000.

Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus are second cousins.

Country singer Kenny Chesney co-wrote Rascal Flatts' 2007 single, 'Take Me There', which served as the lead-off single to their album Still Feels Good.
